Our project includes a children’s bicycle that is equipped with safety features aimed at making the cyclist more visible on the road.
Cycling
Cycling brings many ecological benefits that are important for environmental protection and sustainable development. As a means of transport, cycling does not produce any greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change. Replacing car transport with cycling reduces the production of CO2 and other harmful substances.
Cycling is an important part of sustainable transport in cities and towns. It supports the development of infrastructure for cyclists, which leads to an improvement in the environment and quality of life. In addition, cycling has a positive impact on people’s health and fitness, supports the local economy and tourism.

Our Ride & Shine project ecologically and safely shows that innovative technologies can also contribute to the enjoyment of cycling and make it safer.
The bicycle is a means of transport that also generates significantly less noise and vibration than motorised transport. Using a bicycle does not require any energy (except human energy) and thus contributes to two of the EC’s objectives: reducing dependence on fossil fuels and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Have a safe ride
The Ride & Shine project ecologically and safely includes wireless control of turn signals and a buzzer for a bicycle using Arduino Nano and Bluetooth technology, thus presenting an innovative solution for increasing the safety and comfort of cyclists. This system allows for simple and intuitive control of the lights, thus minimizing the distraction of the rider while riding. Thanks to impact detection, activation of the sound signal and automatic lighting of the brake light, the passive safety of the cyclist is also increased.



Ride&Shine
In the future, this system could be further developed, for example by integrating it with a smartwatch or mobile phone, which would allow for even more convenient control and personalization. It would also be possible to add other functions, such as automatically turning on the lights at dusk or linking them with GPS navigation.
ecological materials
The materials used in the project are environmentally friendly. PLA is a biodegradable plastic based on renewable resources such as corn starch, while PETG is recyclable and has a longer lifespan. Both materials are more environmentally friendly compared to traditional plastics, as PLA decomposes under certain conditions and PETG can be recycled repeatedly. In addition, their production and processing have a smaller carbon footprint.
